Today's Date: Saturday, July 05, 2008 Article Posted: Tuesday, July 27, 2007 Work Day at Missions Alive! Teens and youth sponsors from Cornerstone Christian Church in Effingham, Illinois, spent a couple of nights at Missions Alive. After the first night (7/24), the youth traveled to Kings Island for a day (7/25) of recreation. The next day, they joined the Missions Alive staff in carrying out various work projects to the Missions Alive property. Rocks were picked-up to promote safe mowing and to provide better soil for the planting of new grass. ![]() Out-of-control brush was cut and burned. ![]() Mulch was replaced by crushed stone upon a plastic base around the Missions Alive sign. ![]() Around the garage, grass was replaced by crushed stone for ease of maintainance. Also, a ditch was enforced to promote better flow of rain water and to prevent flooding. ![]() Despite the rainy forcast, it was a productive day. It rained up until the work day began. It rained for a while during lunch. But, despite overcast skies, the rain stayed away for all of the time that was allocated for the work projects. And, the students worked hard, virtually without complaint. The love of Christ was truly evident in the lives of the crew from Cornerstone Christian Church that day. |
