Shona Bible Project Top

| There is a chronic shortage of Shona Bibles in Zimbabwe. One of the often heard requests in the churches is, “Can you get us a Bible?” We try to import Shona Bibles about once a year, when we can. It takes time, as the Bibles have to come from Cape Town, South Africa from the Bible Society and they have to have them in stock and they don’t always have them, etc. and so on. We started on this importation project last October and finally got the Bibles delivered to Masvingo in June. Our plan is to distribute the Bibles in the churches by the end of September. At present, this importation has cost approximately $9,100 with donations of $2,084 leaving a balance of $7,016 to be made up from regular mission giving or from special donations for the project. This is a very worthy project for any person, church or small group. Spreading the Word of God is always something we need to do. Putting a Bible into the hands of people desperate for the Word is an incredible blessing for that person, us as we share with them and for those who make it possible through their generosity. |

They are planning future activities in the churches including what is called “Big Sunday.” This is where the churches all meet together at one church for a big gathering. Karen and the Widows Support Group Top

| Karen giving out Marshmallow Easter eggs to the children of the widows and single mothers. | Leatherwood Christian and Walnut Grove Christian have provided vitamins, and OTC medication, pens, pencils and other small items for the widows and single mothers. These are greatly appreciated by the families. |

| On Sunday 19 April, Karen asked the widows and single mothers and their children to meet with her so she could share out the vitamins, tooth brushes, tooth paste and other items sent for the widows by US church friends. | The widows group has about 10 members but when you include their children, the number of people helped by this ministry is over 30. The small gifts sent to assist these mothers brings great blessing. |

He was away from home the day we took the bicycle. He was visiting churches in the rural areas at the time. Communication with the Musindos is difficult as they have no phone. To contact them we have to actually go to their home to find them. |
